EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques and Sacred Space

EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques and Sacred Space

So many times, across so many lives, in so many worlds, and in so many ways, our emotions have limited, blocked, and frightened us.

We have believed ourselves to be our fears, our insecurities. We have thought that sadness could destroy us, or that anger could turn us into “bad people.” In reality, the abilities—not easy to cultivate and live by—to observe, recognize, welcome, and transform our difficult emotions are the very portal to their transmutation.

The more we keep them “at bay,” the more we hide them, the more they seep in and crystallize within us. Yet they remain there, and in ways sometimes subtle, sometimes overbearing, they break out, distancing us from our heart, our essence, and our truth.

EFT does not only act on emotions; it has the capacity to operate at an even deeper level. It offers us the opportunity to touch and feel those places within us where ancient memories, sensations, and emotions are stored in our body.

The Power of Inner Curiosity

What I love—not only about EFT, but about truly evolutionary approaches—is that they allow us to be curious, to explore and understand:

  • How our inner world moves.
  • How our system responds to what we experience and feel.
  • How we react to the people we meet, the memories that surface, and the triggers we encounter every day.

EFT truly gives us the chance to embody the famous adage “as without, so within”; what happens outside of us is a reflection of what happens inside, and vice versa. And if we observe with an open Heart and Mind, we can truly find profound answers within ourselves.

Furthermore, we know how intimately connected we are beyond Space and Time; we are immersed in this Divine, intelligent, informed, and infinite Matrix. Until it is processed, our past remains alive in our present and influences our future; there is a subtle thread connecting us not only to the people of this lifetime, but also of past lives. We are an interconnected whole.

This awareness led me to the creation of a new way of using EFT. I have called it EFT and Sacred Space.

This methodology is based on the idea of creating a Sacred, Safe Space for the individual. It is an approach steeped in bodily listening, paying close attention to:

  • What occurs at a somatic level.
  • How our inner world, our physiology, and our emotional movements react.
  • The Felt Sense (a term coined by Eugene Gendlin).

It is an approach that offers clients the opportunity to find their boundaries, to feel in the body what resonates and what does not, and what causes a distortion in the field. The client listens, and there is profound trust in the client’s capacity and their system to find the necessary Resources within themselves.

Choice, Integration, and Peace

In this approach, Time and Space are given, allowing internal and external Resources to be found. The client is given the opportunity to decide, to have choices—something they might not have had in the past.

With EFT and Sacred Space, we can work in relation to:

– A specific person.

– A situation or event.

– A part of the Self.

One of the things that strikes me most about this method is how a person’s body and Soul contain within themselves everything needed to resolve, transform, and integrate whatever difficulties arise.

It is a dance of observation, listening, movement, transformation, acceptance, awareness, and peace. It is also a knowing and a feeling that we are truly part of something much greater than ourselves.
